The Outreach Committee of St Andrew’s Church, Bedford has very generously awarded a grant of £1000 to the Umeed Project It is hoped to apply this grant to improve the facilities at the new Umeed Middle School in Minority Community DB 58, near Bahawalpur.

Riffat Rizvi from Bangor UK (and Umeed Partnership Treasurer) conducted a three-day series of literacy seminars in Zanas House, Johor Town, Lahore on 14, 15 & 16 April 2009. Bangor Rotary has submitted a bid for £9716 to the Rotary Foundation to provide security walls, latrines, school furniture and a potable water supply for the Umeed Primary School in Yazman. The outcome will be known in July.
